Hi, thank you for creating this discussion. I also had the same question in mind and didn't know where to ask. I went through the responses which you got for this discussion. I found that they are very useful to me and answers many questions of mine. I have one more query. I would appreicate if anybody answers. Is the paypal account which we will get by registering is a credit card one?

Hello justbeingtiffany, I don't recall how I did it, perhaps the system and methods of doing things have changed, but I never had to enter any Bank Information in order to verify my Paypal account, I simply linked it to a debit card and they made the $1.00 surcharge, and everything has been handy-dandy since then. I think I'm lucky though compared to the stories I've heard of PayPal being a real monster to validate. Anyway, not to discourage you, I hope that you do get things sorted out so that all your work does indeed come to fruition. Happy myLotting!

Well all I can tell you is that paypal is a pretty safe and sacure method of receiving money and I'm not sure that you can avoid giving your bank account I verified my paypal account by following that method, and theres a upside to using or adding your bank account to verify your paypal account becuse paypal will add a tiny amount of money to your bank account so that they can verify your paypal as I said this mothod is pretty safe, and though I'm not to sure, but I think that giving your bank account maybe the only way that you can verify your paypal account, but if your mother dosent feel comfortable with doing that then its best to respect her wishes, but paypal is (safe) I've had my paypal account for over a year and nothing bad happened.

I have been with paypal for over a year maybe even two years. They can be trusted with your account information and they always verify things with you first. I dont have my bank account tied to them anymore but use to. Since then though I have ordered a paypal debit card that is where you can have immediate access to your paypal account money. It was free but I dont know if they offer it to every member. You may have to be a member a while first but you can look into that and its a safer option.

What i did was to open a bank account that i only use with paypal. that way if anything happens they are not going to get into our account with all our house hold banking. I even went to a different bank. Maybe your mom would do that for you so you can get it verified, and it will not interfere with family household money. I would not share your papal account with any one.

The others' suggestion of opening a separate account just for your myLot earnings is a good one. Paypal is secure - eBay users are using it all the time and there are millions of them! But be careful if you get any emails that say they're from Paypal and ask for your details. Paypal will always address you by name. If any email just says "Dear Paypal cutsomer" or something similar, don't even open it. It's called Phishing and is a way of getting your bank details and stealing your identity. You have more to fear from this than from Paypal itself. So open that separate account, and be careful when opening emails that don't address you by name! 30 dollars is quite a lot, you must have done a lot on here to get that amount - you do't want to lose it, so take this advice and enjoy!

Oh, but maybe you can explore banks that have a separate account number for online transactions. Then maybe that is better. My credit card account has an e-bank account attached to it, but it shuts out the rest of the data attached to the main account number. Entirely safe? I am not sure, either.

hi jusbeingtiffany, i understand that you are scared to give your bank information but i don't think there's another way to verify your paypal. Paypal is a secure site and they won't expose or give your bank information. They are very strict as well so i trusted it myself. Knowing your information is there only way to verify that you are the owner and not someone giving false information that sign up. Don't worry you are safe with them. Have a nice day!

I don't think you can get verified without giving all your info over to them. I will tell you that I have been there for 2 years and no problems. I think they are very secure. I also hesitated. I don't like giving anyone my personal info but I do think you are safe with them. I don't think you'd regret it.

justbeingtiffany, I do not think there is any other way for you except to convince your mother that Paypal is a trustworthy online payment processor and the various reasons why you need to have this account verified. I am sure Paypal has enough credentials and history for everyone including your mother to see. Just don't take any short cuts or some untrustworthy methods, its not worth it at the end of the day. So, before you reach your limit I am sure you will have enough time convincing her. Tip: She can apply for a restrictive supplementary card for your use here. Besides, it will not cost an arm or leg to loose the card with restrictions and safety precautions. I hope that it will work out for you. All the best.

Mike (response number one) is right. I've dealt with PayPal for quite a few years now and have always found them to be a very secure site. I wouldn't worry about giving them your bank account number. All they do with it is send you a small amount of money to verify the bank account. They sent my wife like 92 cents when she did hers. After that, they only need the account number again if you request that they send you your money.

First of all if you want to transfer your money to your local bank account. Then you need to add your bank account in with paypal account. For that you have to give you bank details correctly.Otherwise how they will send you the money... Next is to send your money to local account. You dont need to verify your paypal account.Without verification you can send money to your local bank.I have done this many times.I am a unverified paypal user. If you need more guidelines you can contact me.Happy to help you.

I never linked my paypal account to a bank account. I verified my address when I bought something off of Ebay and paid with my debit card via paypal.

I think that you can create a paypal account without giving any bank information. If you want to verify it, you need to have bank information.

Read through Paypal's terms and conditions. I do not think there is any other way to be verified.
