Let me explain a little further in detail about what I'm talking about. I've been told by several different people about ghosts and things of that nature. And trust me on up until about 10 years ago I would have said that every one was crazy that there is no such things as ghosts, spiritual beings and even worse evil beings. Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I'm just curious if any of you have had a spiritual encounter with the other side. I'm asking because I don't want to feel like I'm crazy because when my sister died I didn't really know anything about the spiritual side of it. I felt someone wrap there arms around me when I layed in bed 2 nights after she died and ever since then I've felt what she was facing in that house. I knew Jesus and God and the Spirit as I am a born again christain. I just didn't fully understand the depthness of the spiritual realm until I was pretty much forced to deal with it when I lived in my parents house. You necessarily didn't see them but you felt them and you knew there was someone there standing over your shoulder or trying to give you the worst night mares you could possibly imagine. My little girl I think has seen them there because there would only be so far she would go when the the lights were off in the house. She would only go to a certain point in the house where the shaddow and the light hit together and then she wouldn't go past that point. I also noticed that when she would play she would run and then run to point and stop at just about the same spot just about everytime like someone was holding up there hand telling her to stop. I've had times where I wouldn't be able to be in the house by myself. Even after we left and my brother and his gf came up to help us move. I still felt spirits and it didn't feel like the good spirits that I knew were in the house because I've had visions of them fighting against the evil spirits there. I would do the praying over the rooms, and the reading of the scripture in each room and that would last for a while but then they would be back and when we were up there cleaning the bedroom out I felt something wrap around my legs and there was no way that it was the air because the bed was sitting over the vent and the windows had been borded up. I would go in that bedroom to go to sleep in my bed and I would see the string to the fan just start moving randomly like someone was hitting it to play with it. That's how I knew that there was good spirits and that there was bad spirits. I had asked God to help me understand what was behind this and he opened me up to a whole nother side of spiritual understanding. I also learned that when I needed to ask God something he delivered. I was able to hear the spirits there and ou get the good with the bad whehter you just wanted the good. I've had experiences when my mom and I was looking at houses because we were in the process of buying one where something would just stop me before I was half way up the walk. There was one that was like 2 stories and it was a nice open floor plan. There was house down stairs and an apartment upstairs. The door wouldn't open cause it was locked but I couldn't even go up the stairs as soon as I turned the corner. WE didn't go back to that house. i'm just curious if any of you have had any experiences in real life spiritual houses or places like I did where it completely opened you up to a different way of thinking and feeling. It's almost like this is my sixth sense so to speak. Most of you would probably think that I'm crazy and I'm okay with that, but if you stayed 2 weeks in that house by your self day and night you would understand exactly what I was talking about because every person that goes in that house whether they believe that the spirits exist, know they exist after leaving that house.
One other thing to add, when we moved out of my house I grew up in, my dad took it over. We moved into an apartment in town and my little girl wouldn't leave my bedside. I had to either have her in the bed with me or have her bed in the room I was in. Even with her crib. When we moved to the apartment, she slept in her bed every night for the first week, and we both actually got to sleep every night all night through. That was the first sounded sleep I had had in years.

I without a doubt believe in spirits that stay here because of unfinished business or for other reasons. I always have, but did not have an experience until my husband and I moved in our house after marrying this past March.
We knew that an older woman had lived here...in fact, my father had done some business with her (I believe she worked at home preparing some sort of paperwork--he is a real estate investor). She was handicapped and actually passed away in the room that is now our bedroom. I've had quite a few experiences with her (I call her Grandma). A few times there have been crashes in the basement, only for me to go down and see nothing disturbed (the first time this happened I took a weapon with me because I thought someone was breaking in. Before the crash there was whispering coming from under our bedroom where the garage door is in the basement). Another time I was trying to fall asleep in my bed and I felt her standing right next to me...I was as sure she was there as I'm for sure my husband is next to me when he is. I prayed for her then and I didn't open my eyes because I didn't want to see her. As far as I know, she is still here, but I continue to pray for her and sometimes I'll remind her that she's passed and needs to go "home."
I know construction and renovating a house can stir things up, and we had to do a lot to the house before we moved in. The owners of the house between Grandma and us were very violent, destructive people and had bashed walls in, took the copper plumbing before they left...so we redid everything plus we painted, redid the hardwood floors, put down new tile...perhaps that made her curious. Either way, I certainly don't feel threatened but it is a little weird knowing someone you don't know--that has already passed--is living with you.

At least you know she's still looking out for you. That was nice of her to check up on you after she passed...I bet you were caught off guard at first but at least it's nice to look back on. :) She must have really loved you!

I know that seems to help me more than anything. I would always use scriptures that Jesus used in the bible to get rid of the spirits in a human being. That seemed to help for a time. I've also gotten to where God understands that I will ask him if I need to know more information on something than what I can see or hear or feel. Some times To much information can hurt you as well. It's almost like I turn it on and off at will now if that makes sense. I said a prayer one night after we got moved in and just said - God I don't need it any more, if I do I'll ask you. The stregnth of prayer was what I needed before and because I was unable to obtain it through other people I basically had to go at it alone. And alone even if it is a good fight is a lonely number. So prayer in that sense really does help.

Hi chrysontherocks 77. Spirits, they say, especially of a loved one who had just passed a way, linger around us. Sometimes, we smell their scent. Sometimes we attest that our beloved was right on that couch a moment ago. A teacher and her students swore that at classmate had been present in their first class before they learned that that classmate fatally succumbed to a vehicular accident a few hours earlier. Spirits staying for a moment is normal. The case with your sister was the same. With the other occurrences, perhaps you should consult a specialist. You might have gotten your third eye open.
