We have all heard the saying "laughter is the best medicine" and today there are groups who meet to the sole purpose of laughing.Science tells us that when a person is relaxed, having pleasant talk, smiling, laughing etc he/she will have less stress and are much less likely to catch diseases because the body is in a better physical condition. What are your thoughts?

I think laughter is just one of the composition of happiness. Laughter plus peace of mind plus prosperity, plus love and respect, success and blessings from God and so many others would equal to happiness...

Hi bing, Thank you for commenting. Although I think laughter can contribute to happiness, I don't think that we need all those material things. Rich and successful people are not always happy, while many, who have few material possessions often are. Blessings.

Yes ofcourse it brings happiness, when u laugh the surroundings also becomes live and the person opposite u also feels good. The person who doesn,t laugh have all negative effects in his life and people who laugh freely are very clear from inside also.

Laughter only works if the thing we're laughing at is truly funny, and not at someone else's expense. It's not the act of laughter itsself that is the best medicine, it is the inserity of the emotion expressed when we laugh. The fact that something truly MAKES us laugh is the best medicine.

Definitely, laughter is the best medicine because I'm always smiling and I never encounter any serious health problems. Laughter can also release so much stress because life doesn't have to be so serious.

Hi Mirita, Thank you for your comment and we agree once again. Although I know that I'm usually serious here, I really do laugh a lot and I'm usually smiling. Blessings.

We know that laughter triggers certain chemicals in the brain, and that these are the same chemicals that are triggered by Happiness. So I think this question is the old fashion one of which came first the chicken or the egg?

Hi savypat, Thanks for this and you may be right in saying that it can be either way. Does laughter bring happiness or does happiness bring laughter? Happiness of course, does not always depend on outward circumstances but laughter will often bring something at least akin to happiness, even if it is fleeting.Blessings.

Hello there I know if my day is kinda blue and all . Sometimes, all i need is a friends company , some talks, and a few laughs. A good movie helps as well! I know a walk and some sunshine helps me soooo much. I do think a few laughs can boost the spiritis.

I guess laugther shall be the best medicine depending how, when, why it is meant to. But I disagree if happiness produce from laughter. Because happiness is an experience when he or she is sincere to whatever situation goes by. I know laughing is a face exercise which relaxes our joints. Probably, it may relief our headache from migraine.

Yes I do believe in this. When we laugh (and I mean genuinely) it releases chemicals in our brains which help us to feel happiness and gives our immune systems a little boost!
