Don't you feel like your work environment like morbid?

At my work this morning, one of my co - workers from other department commented to me, my department seems like "Death", because no one is talking, and no one dare to turn on the radio while there was quiet. I felt the same way. But that is the rule ordered by our supervisor, we have to comply.
Do you also feel like you were working under a morbid environment, where there is no one dare to talk; laugh; or listen to a low - volume music?

Well, no- at work, our team usually is a bit the noisy one in the whole floor - our team really gets along well and we spend time together at the office during lunches so our bond is pretty strong, i think.. no one would dare say we are so quite, and no one tells us to shut up too, i feel like the others in our floor is also enjoying our loud conversations.
