I anticipated Avatar so much! It is the return of the self proclaimed king of the world James Cameron, which I think we all know the last (live action) movie he directed was Titanic, which came out about 12 years ago. It took him a long time to finish this movie, I even heard actually when Titanic hasn't even released, he's actually planning to make this movie. Rightnow, it is still secretly wrapped tight, even the storyline released is very short, it is about Earth send out a guy (an avatar, because he is a former soldier reconstructed from a nearly dying body, played by Sam Worthington, you see him in Terminator Salvation) to a planet to found a new place for human to live where the citizen feel threatened by the mission he carried. I think basically it is a war movie, but with futuristic touch. So, what is your most anticipated movie? Peter Jackson's Nine Lives? Martin Scorcese Shutter Island? Or else? Share it here!

I can't believe there are two movies called Avatar coming out within 7 months of each other. It's not uncommon for two movies (or more) to have the same title and be completely different stories but these two are coming out the end of December, 2009 and beginning of July, 2010.
This really is the only place I had heard anything about the James Cameron movie; I've been all over the M. Night Shaymalan movie coming out next summer, based on the Avatar animated series, starring Dev Patel from Skins and Slumdog Millionaire and Jackson Rathbone from Twilight.
The first movie on my list is, technically, still a Summer movie since it's coming out in September but it's listed as a Fall release... Tim Burton's 9 looks AMAZING!
After that, Shutter Island looks good, so does Sherlock Holmes. New Moon because I saw the first Twilight movie, I have to finish the series. And Where the Wild Things Are because Spike Jonez is an amazing artist and it's really awesome that he's doing a feature film.

Hi crimsonlady, thanks for the response. Maybe you don't know this this, but actually the Avatar movie which based on the animated series has to changed its title to just "The Last Airbender" because James Cameron has the right to the title since years ago, even before the series itself aired on TV. This show that James is developing the movie very seriously, which is why I have high standard for this movie, hopefully it will not dissapoint. Oh yeah I forgot the title of Peter Jackson new movie, The Lovely Bones, which story also tightly wrapped by the studio. Spike Jonze making a movie? I am eager to see it, what is it about? I think his last movie was Miracle at St. Anna right? I know he is a controversial director because of his social critical movie, but so far I only watch one of his movies, that is Inside Man, pretty good and a surprising commercial movie which he is rarely made. Thanks for the response!

Actually, Miracle at St. Anna was directed by Spike Lee (in the 80's and early 90's it would have been called "A Spike Lee Joint"
), and you are right, his movies are often very controversial, and based in African and African-American history. Spike Jonez is most well known for directing and producing outlandish music videos but he's also directed some fairly well known movies - Adaptation (starring Nicholas Cage) and Being John Malkovich.
He was personally approached by Maurice Sendak to do the adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are and it will be almost entirely live action, which is super news for a bull-headed traditionalist like myself
. There are some Jim Henson's Creature Shop puppets whose facial expressions are being done in the same way as Gollum's in the Lord of the Rings but mostly the "Wild Things" are going to be actors in costumes.
Separately, the "official" title for the Shaymalan movie is The Last Airbender but it's still listed in several places (Rotten Tomatoes, for one) as Avatar.

Haven't checked the trailer for Where The Wild Things Are. Thanks for the recommendation! It seems a lot of people expecting the Twilight Saga, I am sure it will be a box office splash when it is released.
