Hello paula, yes it is something special, and an experience you never forget. I recall our gondolier was ayoung man with a powerful tenor voice. I recall a bunch of flowers was given to the lady, but I cannot remember the circumstances. I probably had to pay for them. As I said that was a long time ago, and it's probably changed a lot now. Hi tigeraunt, I'm not sure if gondolas are as popular as they were, as with the the world becoming more in a hurry, speed boats are probably more required. However if you get to Venice, it's defifitely worth riding in one. Espacially with someone special.
