Is culture shock another face of depression?

I am a Filipina and i used to spent 26 years of my life in my little but beautiful tropical country Philippines. And i just moved to Australia a couple of months ago.It was autumn when when i arrived. The wheather is basically cold than my tropical country. Now it is winter time and i hated the fact that i had to wear heaps of clothes to keep me warm. And what i hated more is the fact that i have to basically stay inside the house for most of the time and sit near to the fireplace just to keep myself warm.I used to be an outgoing person, always looking forward to either go to the beach or go for a stroll or do mountain hiking and or meet new people and make friends.i feel so bored with my life nw that i am just staying at home for most of the time.People are busy here during the day, all the houses are empty.I basically have no one to talk to and not much to do xcept to go online or watch tv.It makes me feel sick to wake up and be encaged in same place all day for 24/7.So it kind of leave me to thinking am i depressed or something i just dont know?

You just need to adjust. Give yourself room to adjust to the changes not only weather wise, but people wise as well. I know you like being warm and all, so maybe you should consider buying warm clothes or something. Once you've bought warm clothes - slowly start going out. Maybe once a week or something. Pretty soon you'll meet people that you like (new friends, so to speak) - then you'll be back to your old self. Think HAPPY THOUGHTS. Good luck, hang in there, dear!
