Which would you rather be, a stay at home mommy, or a working mama?

being a full-time mother is the highest salaried jobs on my field, since the payment is pure love....-mildred vermont

I am a working mom and I am fine with that. It was never a choice for my husband and me financially to allow for me to stay home. In fact we made arrangements for one of us to be home at all times. My husband works the afternoon shift and is home with my son all day and when he leaves for work, my father watches him for about an hour then I come home and am with him all evening. I feel as if being a working mom is better for both me and my son. I get time away and can be an adult for a period of time, which allows me to give him my all when I come home.

i would've preferred to be a working mom provided am guaranteed that my child would grow up safe. however, we live far from our parents and since the opportunity to be a stay at home mom presented itself i took it as a sign that things in our lives would be better off if i stay at home.

I am on a one year maternity leave now. I have a 6 month baby and at ths stage of my life, I cant imagine going back to work and leaving her. But that is just the way of life and inorder to give her a better life I will have to return after a yr. But for sure I will miss her. But I guess working will give us some time of our own and when we are back wth our kids we will contribute more and enjoy it more. I hope it is that way.

Awww that quote is so cute! But, I have to admit that I am a full time working mother and I do enjoy working, because it gives me time to myself. But, I would love to be home more with my kids, because I miss them so much when I am not there. But, like I said, if I was a stay at home mom, I think I would have to work even a little bit, just to have time away from the house and stuff, otherwise I would go crazy! lol

I am a stay at home mommy and I love it - but certainly it is a lot of hard work! I have a 4 year year old with another one on the way . . . so when they are both in school full time, that's when I'll go back into the working force. My husband and I decided it would be best for me to be a stay at home mom. I wouldn't say we are well to do, but we have made our budget work for us. The early years are so precious, and we thought it best to be able to be with the kids as much as possible during these most impressionable years. I personally didn't want to miss a thing. Some of my friends and family members went back to work as soon as they could. Apparently staying at home drove them nuts. Well, like I said, it IS a lot of hard work being at home with a child or children . . . but to me, it's been truly rewarding and I'm only happy and feel fortunate to be able to do this.

Stay at home, definately! I have been one for the past 10 years, and love it. The only problem is, all of my children are now in school, so my husband is wanting me to get a job. I have applied at alot of places, but never get any callbacks from them. It kinda makes me feel as though I am not supposed to go to work. I love being able to be home with the kids, put them on the bus, be here when they get home, and just act all silly with them. Their grins, giggles, laughter, and love is all that I need.

Dear friend, As a son of a mother, I would give that decision to my mum, I do want to see my mum happy with her choice and I would support any choice that is taken by my mum. My mum was a government employee and now she is retired. I do not find any serious difficulty when my mum was working.
