http://www.physorg.com/news167324813.html the human brain is very fascinating. it has such a large potential and capacity to do many things. this girl is functioning with only half a brain. it is truely remarkable for the brain to accommodate to certain circumstances at such a young age. with age though, the brain just isnt the same.

Hello KupoSin, I read the article which you supplied in your post, and I was very pleased to learn that the young girl under study leads a relatively normal life. I found it quite surprising given that many individuals afflicted with mental retardation often have fully intact brains. Such stories motivate me further to pursue my new-found dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon. I am well aware that such an aspiration is not for the faint of heart, but the mystery and intrigue that the brain brings about never ceases to fascinate me. Of all the organs in the body, it is the most important, and yet least documented - a paradox if you may. Unlike the organs whose physiology and processes have been well researched and rehashed, the brain is a new frontier to be charted only by the most zealous of scientists. Just when they think they have figured something out, a random occurrence such as this one pops up, seemingly impossible, and must be connected to the other fragments of information we have collected thus far. Who knows - maybe one day we will be able to unravel the intricacies and secrets of this quintessential organ. We may be able to cure mental diseases such as Alzheimer's and Amnesia. We may be able to create or even store memories! We may be able to work out the causes of mental handicaps and with therapy provide unique therapies to assist such afflicted persons. Only time will tell. Good luck and happy myLotting - thanks for a refreshing read.
