If you'd given $10000 to change a perfect stranger, what would you do?

You may have heard about the concept of paying it forward -- the idea of doing something meaningful to help someone else without asking for anything in return. So, if you were given $1,000 with the understanding that it had to be used to help others, how would you use the money and why?

I first thought it was 10,000, then it is 1000. Well I will answer both, with 10,000 I will find at least two families that are homeless and help them get a home, find a job and start a new life somewhere with their kids, I am sure that 10,000 can help more than two families but I will stick to two, I would make also sure they have a car, their kids go to school and they start a savings account, they would have to report to me tho, so I can see how they are progressing. With a 1000 I will find a senior that is homeless and help her/him find a place to leave and find out what kind of help can he or her get, most are not getting the help they should have because they find themselves homeless due to a number of things, there was a family problem and they threw them out of their home. If they can get disability, ss, the better, I will keep taps on this person too, to see how this person is coping or progressing.

Oh, sorry I didn't noticed that I've changed it to $10000. Well anyway, it is nice to hear from your good words.

I would go to the people who help people and I would ask for a family that could use this money. I think they would be much more likely to know than I could discover by any other means.

While $1000 may not be a substantial amount to some it could be the answer to someone else's prayers. While I couldn't buy a house for a homeless person I could buy them warm clothes, jackets, blankets, and pillows to make their lives a little more comfortable. However, my passion is with children and especially those who have been dealt an unfair hand in life. Children who have suffered from abuse or are suffering from disease. I would use the money to grant a wish, to buy new toys, to help organizations who help these children. Great question. Lots of time you get questions asking what you would spend the money on for yourself. Its nice to see someone asking people to use that pretend money to better our world.
