Do you choose best answers?

Most people that don't read the rules and FAQs don't know in order to close out the discussion you have to choose "Best Response" ! @aravindkrd (610)

Yeah.. I've seen a lot of very good responses left.. unrated or unchoosed..
All I can do is give them a PLUS rating....
Its unfair considering the effort taken by the people to respond to discussions
Specially Help questions!

I do choose best responses as it is the only way to close a discussion, but I don't do it immediately. You see I wait for a few days(3-4) so as to get some satisfying response, when I feel I've had enough solutions to my question, I choose the response I feel is most appropriate and mark it as the best response in some cases when I feel more than one response is good, I take some further steps to choose my best response

Yeah.. thats fine..
But there are people who don't close any of the discussions they start
Why don't have a new feature.. such that
"If the post isn't closed within a month, put for public voting to choose the best answer(like they do in yahoo answers)??

I will choose the best answer if the response I received gives the solution to my issue , immediately. If not I will wait for some days and I will select the best among the available. I failed to do the above in my earlier days of mylot and now, I am resolving each and every of my discussions by searching one by one. I am doing this for at least two or three of my old discussions.Still I am having nearly 300 unresolved discussions and I expect that I will finish them at least in 30 or 40 days.We need to read the entire discussion and the responses again and it is very time consuming process. Also it is not advisable to do that now and then, as there is a possibility of much better response after we chose a better response from the available.

Yeah.. thats right.. You can't just go after all the Discussions that you've started..
But I always try to close the busy discussions that I start...
There are guys who deliberately ignore givin best answer.. thinking selfishly..
allowing.. voting (by others) should make things different(probably)
Lets hope for the best!

I do choose best respones as well, but I wait at least a week, as mylot said we are to wait about a week to give others a chance to respond. It is hard sometimes to choose the best response, especially when there are a lot of responses, and a lot of good answers. I had one discussion that had 37 responses, and that one was very difficult as I had a lot of good ones, but I could only pick one. In a way it would be great if we could choose more than one in situations like that. I haven't really started all that many discussions though, but the ones I did start, I did pick the best response to all of them except 2 discussion which are fairly new. i have choosen the best answer to a few of my questions that i care the most about. or when there are only a few responses. i like to reward one of the people who answered my questioned because i'm so grateful. and other times i don't give the best answer because its too hard of a choice everyone helped me out. and i have like 21 responses it doesn't seem fair so i push the plus sign on there name. everyone that i liked. and sometimes i ask questions about their opinion on thing and you can't really choose a best answer because its a opinion! happy mylotting.
