Are you familiar with that name?, anyway i`ve been treated for almost 2yrs & i take my pills every day for my maintenance for a long long life, yes you always take your maintenance everyday if not you might be weak again. i experience all the symptoms of hypothyroidsm like a slow heart beat, dry skin weightgain, fatigue, coldness, muscle stiffness & aches even a slow speech.

hi sorry to hear about your condition. There's another kind of illness called Hyperthyrodism, probably a cousin of hypothyroidism. Perhaps the nurse could tell us the differences between the two? I'm not a doctor, but I've heard of the two, and I intend to know the details. Thanks. Take care :)

Hi there paulo!Ü I have heard of this illness and yes, you are required to take your pill for the rest of your life. I have not known anyone of this illness in person but i hope we could be friends here. Take care and please follow your doctor's order.

yes i've heard of hypothyroidism. i am a nurse after all. i've never really met someone with that condition though. i'm really sorry to hear that you have it. how has it been so far? are you able to cope up? the signs and symptoms you have just mentioned are indeed definitive of hypothyroidism. the harder for those diagnosed with this condition to accept is the weight gain (sometimes leading to obesity) and the weakness. what medications are you taking? because of the lack of thyroxine in your body i would have a good guess that you are taking synthetic thyroxine like levo-thyroxine, correct? well, anyway, keep taking those meds, they will come very handy. i hope everything goes well for you. i'm not expert but if ever you need help (granting that i know how to) just pm me.
