Do you have a friend who can't seem to be happy for you?

We've come a long way, knowing each other since we were little girls. Now that we're a lot older, and have shared a lot of memories, I've come to notice that my friend can't seem to be happy for me. At one point in my life with my boyfriend of 4years, we came across problems in our relationship and it was her that I have confided with, crying and all. She'd listen and tell me advices and such. Now that my boyfriend and I are okay, it seems she's behaving quite the opposite of how I expected. But what ticked me most was when we were talking about something different then I was giving her advices in terms of being not overly confident because things may not be as we planned them to be, then she replied that unlike me (whom she called foolish in love) she's better than me in that arena. I think the judgmental response was hitting way below the belt and I was hurt. I also noticed that whenever I would share a moment or two with her with regards the relationship and plans my boyfriend and I have made, it seems she's not interested to listen at all and can never bring herself to be happy that though our relationship has seen it's ebbs and tides, we're still together. The weird thing is that it's only her that's acting like that. My other friends (whom I also confided to at one point or so) don't despise my boyfriend, neither do they block any happy talk I share. Do you have a friend like that? I'm confused as to why she's acting that way. Was I wrong to have confided with her? or is it just she just can't take that I could be happy too?

You should learn to understand them. It's not because they don't want you to have a boyfriend or a relationship. It simply is because they are afraid you'd commit a mistake and not finish schooling. You'd see their point when you are a lot older and more mature.

maybe your friend is jealous because you're not giving her the same 100% attention she used to enjoy from you.
