I´m afraid my migraine is coming back

About 15 years ago I started to have migraines, the nasty ones. They seem to assail me for a couple of month, virtually paralyzing me, at any time of the day, or worse, at night. During the day I can feel the onset, and then take some medication, and that sometimes prevents the real thing to happen. But I can´t do that at night, when I wake up with it I´m IN it, and it can drive you crazy. The last bout I had was about 4 years ago, and it lasted for 5 month. I´ve been okay since then, but I´m afraid it´s starting up again. Do any of you guys have experience with migraines, and maybe some ´trick´ you can share?

i've been getting migraines for years. when i get one, i cut all caffine and sugar out of my diet and get as much sleep as possible. it also helps to keep my bedroom really cold or hold ice packs on my head and the back of my neck.

Have you ever wondered about the 'why' of migraines? I think there is a spiritual answer to that, because at least in my case it makes it impossible to think.

Hi, I'm in my 40's and have had migraines for over 20 years! I understand the pain you go through. I retreat to my bedroom where it is dark and quiet and lay there with ice on my head. My doctor finally put me on a medication called topamax. It helps prevents migraines. I still get them but not that often. Just a few times a year. I use to get them every month. I have cut all caffine out of diet, that is a must! I avoid chocolate and peanut butter, those two things seem to trigger migraines for me. I don't know what else to tell you but good luck. Migraines are terrible and are unbearable.

I was once a migraine sufferer too,it was 12 years ago when i last suffer from this painful headache. And i hope it won't come back never again. I avoided some foods that can trigger up migraine such as coffee, you can take coffee but no sugar and creamer, just coffee alone. And avoid eating chocolates on late afternoon till bedtime.

I know what it's like to have migraines and I suffered from them for the last 10 years of my marriage. It was because of stress I thought it was because of smells during that time. I separated from my husbusnd and the MIgraines went away. I now am friends with him after 15. It was hard for me to date after that as I thought I would have a migraine when I would get into a relationship. Boy was I wrong...lol
