How to save money in Italy?

I will go to stuty in Italy.I want to know how to live and eat with cheap price becauce I do not have much money. any advice? the more the better/

Rents are usually quite high in city centers, the best option is to get a flat and divide the rent with other people, eating is not much expensive if you avoid tourist places, if you tell me the city where you are going to live i can be more specific.

well,what about the costs in Perugia and Bologna? If too high I want to know what the lowest cost city in Italy is.
