What is difference between laptop and notebook ?

Hello friends, yet i dont use laptop or notebook. I only use desktop computer but planning to buy one for me. I am confused that what is the difference between a laptop and notebook? I have searched about it on several websites but didnt got a satisfactory answer to my question. You all are wise persons and must have used both types of computers so please provide some info about it. Like ,what is difference between them? Difference between price,features, and other things. their only difference i think is notebook is much smaller than a laptop.. when it comes to performance, i believe the laptop is better.. if same specifications.. notebook if advisable if your work is on a field because it is more portable than a laptop..

yaar main tuhadi discussion nu respond karna chahni han.....par aes viach tan mainu v nai pata k notebook te laptop ch ki farak ae.Sachi dasan tan mainu tan leaptop te laptop da v farak nai pata.....te ik 'e' nal ki hojandae...!!!
Mere kol tan laptop ae Sony VAIO...te pehlan mere kol Compaq Pressario c...jo main apni choti sis nu deta.Baki hun j tusin lenae tan othe jake hi laoge...tan bas pher laptop lailio...Apple,Dell yan Sony.Baki i only need a personal one jo marzi hove......!
