Just read this on the internet and I thought it would be great to share with everyone here. Yes, cellphones will be used to diagnose diseases in the future. It is disclosed that researchers have developed an add-on to a mobile phone that can take detailed images and analyze them to diagnose diseases such as tuberculosis. Cellscope as it is called works works as a so-called fluorescence microscope that can identify the markers of disease. As the typical fluorescence microscopes are bulky, expensive devices limited to hospitals and laboratories, Cellscope is hoped to be useful in the developing world's future, where such medical diagnostics are rare but mobile ownership and coverage are common. This will really be a great breakthrough invention if the field trials prove to be successful, where diagnosing can be done without delays and use of expensive bulky equipments.
