Do you believe in the end of the world?

I have found myself learning more and more about "life". What it really is about, why I am here and who I am suppose to be. Not that one answer is the right answer, but do you believe the end of our time is really coming?

Hello, I believe everyone has their own "End" one way or another. As for everyone alive now, who knows because I'm not privileged (or cursed)to know that secret. As for that catastrophic ending, I don't know.Maybe in my lifetime or maybe not in my lifetime. I won't live my life worrying about somethoing that hasn't happened.

Ah, right on. I guess I have to say (just as I said to maezee) that is healthy thinking. Live for today! Thanks for your response. Even though I sit and ponder on these thoughts, I don't let it control my everyday living.

Not really. But I'm definitely not an "existential" thinker like you, apparently. I have friends who think about those "deep" and un-answerable questions..But I really don't. I'd rather deal with the reality of every day life than worry about something that no one can prove. I don't think the end of the world is coming, and even if it was coming as we speak, I enjoy life knowing that it doesn't matter. I live for today, and whatever happens, happens!

Right on. I think it's healthy to "think" they way you do. I'm not totally stuck on wondering "oh my god we are gonna die soon!" sorta thing, but I like to take in all views for thought. Thanks for the response.

There is something to be said about the irony or comparisons within the bible vs current time....that's for sure.

Yes sometimes I do with all my heart, it seems so logical. We have polluted and raped this planet so badly, we have caused and still are causing so many unnecessary wars, we as a planet have been so irresponsible that sometimes it just seems so obvious, and that infact it should have happened along time ago, and that the only reason it hasn't is some divine force holding things back to give us time to make ammends. The Mayan prohecy indicates say the end will come in 2012, or that some huge mass destruction will take place. Sometimes when I read about the going ons of our planets I feel hopeless. Its like every change we make only scratches the surface, the problem is so deep and multilayered and hidden from a million smokescreens, that no one even knows where to begin. The above helps to inspire me in another way though, if it's all going to end soon, it makes me think what is really important and permanent and makes me more single minded in the pursuit of this.

It's good to know that we have acknowledged the abuse we have bestowed upon this planet, but it sucks. Now is the time to redeem ourselves...for our own sake not just because we may think something will happen. Thanks for the response. THUMBS UP
