            Hi All,
Recently I have noticed that the “stamina” of my Acer notebook’s battery has been getting progressively worse. The laptop is hardly a year old and yet I get only 3/4ths of the time I used to get with it when I bought it. I wanted to know more details about how my battery’s doing. Why is it behaving so badly?

I, too, have an Acer laptop with same problem. And like others responding, keep it mainly plugged in. I had a previous Acer with same issue. However, replacing the battery did not correct the problem so I purchased a new computer. I understand being more sensitive to battery care, but in addition my computer randomly shuts down (as if out of power) when it is plugged in. This started about a month ago very infrequently and now happens quite often. Unit is about 1 year old. Any ideas?

                    Hey,
I think that it is behaving really badly because it might be really old. I don't know if it is really old, but that is maybe one reason why. I can't think of anything else, besides getting a new one. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

The battery life of the laptop is about 2-3 yrs. Just try to change power option and performance option . if it still continues than check the battery once.

I have an IBM Thinkpad T60. It is already 3 years old. Recently, I got same problem as you. When I asked to IBM support/service, They suggest to changed it because it is about time to change. Mostly, The laptop battery life is only 2-3 years. Other advise, we are wrong on handling this battery or bad product battery. I mean we have regularly (like once of month) to drain this battery then started recharged on. Don't leave power on while you are not using it.

hi friend i think the reason for this is the improper maintainence..you might be used to keeping it plugged in even on full charging or you might be keeping it on a bad conductor...laptop battery needs proper maintainence ...

All stuff will get weaker and weaker.
batteries require special attention.
Now i will be more careful with my laptop.
