Do you know what is durian? It is the best fruit I ever had. In my country, it is name as king of fruits. There are season fruits and guess what? It is now durian season and along the roasd side you can see many stalls selling durians. There are some types of durians. This thorny fruits has a strong aroma and most of the locals will just like it. But foreigners used to stay away from durians as they could not stand the strong aroma taste. Take a look at the picture of durians. Do you like it? Have you eaten durian before?

Durians are thorny but comes with soft yellow flesh inside. For us who loves them, the aroma are heavenly. For those who despise it, it stinks like hell! It's like eating spoilt cheese. It's either you like it or you dont. No way you can get in between. I love it to the max! I'll eat until I am all flushed out! My boy wont even touch it! My husband? He loves it but always gets giddy after having a durian feast.

I don't love durians; I merely like it. I could only eat a bit though; eating too much causes the body to feel hot. Oh, I love to eat it chilled. Put them in the fridge, then take them out after a while. Yummy :) The type of durian I like to eat is the one that has a tinge of bitterness - heavenly taste.

Hi vingyan, durian is my most favorite fruit during local fruit season. Here in my place durian season was just over. We still could see a few by the roadside stall occasionally. Yeah, to all the fans of durian, its aromatic smell is heavenly For people who dislike it can’t stand its stinky smell and would step aside when seeing other eating durian. I am huge fan of durian. I always enjoy eating durian heartily. I even could take it as my meals. There are different varieties of durians. Good quality durians are more expensive for sure. I prefer to spend more to get better quality fruits. The flesh of the good quality durian is more delicious than the ordinary Happy posting!

You are welcome vingyan. Really, after the durian season, I could take durian pastry or cake only if I crave for it Anyway I dislike durian flavor ice cream. I believe no matter how nutritious any food is if taken excessively, surely it would cause more harm than good. So try to taste it with appropriately amount the next season for better health

Hello Ikbooi, Thanks for your time here. Yeah, the durian season is just over. I miss the durians. Nowadays I could not take too much durians because I have some asthma problem. I don't know why I get discomfort after eating too much durians. I agree with you. Those durian lovers that I know normally go for better grade and quality durians. They just don't mind to pay more to eat better!

Anywhere, I have come across a very interesting information from one of the mylotter here, she is also one of my friend, . According to her, Always remember to drink salt water using the durian inner part to avoid heatiness in your body. And wash your hand using the durian inner part will get rid off the durian smell.

Hello Celineml! Thanks for your response again! Woh, you guys are indeed durian fans! 10 kg that is a lot! May I just know how many of you share the 10 kg of durian? Yeah, agree with you, durian is a heaty and hot tropical fruit. Pregnant lady advised not to eat too much durian, it is no good for both the baby and mummy. So better don't eat too much during pregnancy.

I live in the U.S so they do not sell Durian fruit here, but I have seen it on shows like "Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmerman" on the Travel Channel, and I remember watching it, and him saying how much it stunk, so no I do not think I will want to try a durian fruit. But I am sure that there are some american foods that you would not want to try, so to each their own

Hello vingyan. I know what durian is because I can see big durians on sale in the market, but I have never bought one to eat because it is new to me. I have never tasted it. But I have eaten some durian candies. It has a special smell that people don't like. They say it smells. I think that it is because it is an imported fruit, not a popular kind in our local place. Anyway, I am glad to know that durian is called king of fruits in your country. Enjoy yourself, vingyan.

Dear vingyan 06, My husband, my sister, my mum just loves durian. But since my son turned 3, we hardly eat durian he hate the smell of it, if he sees it, he will covered his nose and hurriedly walk off. Very Strange, papa + mama loves durian son should loves durian too! but the equation is wrong, son hates durian! What submerryn mentioned is correct. Durian, either you love it OR you hate it! But now my sister don't care about my son, she bought durian every Wednesday (night market) and give my son two choice, either join us to eat Or go inside his room!

Haha, pity boy! So end up what he choose? Since the whole family just like it, you thought of your son will like it too :( Please don't force your son to eat if he is not liking it. Honestly many kids too don't like the strong smell of durians.

Dear Vingyan, You know the answer, he chose to go to his room with his netbook, ON the aircond and at the same time watch the tv! Aiya, extra cost for me...extra electricity bill...the funny part is, he will quitely put toothpaste on our toothbrushes to make sure we really brush our teeth and rinse with Listerine!
