Stocks Surge as Obamacare Implodes

Do you agree with the following opinion?
Hate to say it but Obama’s disastrous press conference last night is a big contributor to today’s roaring stock market. The Dow opened strong and is now up over 200 points, continuing a very bullish rally that is breaking new high ground for shares this year.
Politics is not everything, but I believe that the shrinking probability of a new government insurance plan that would lead to nationalized health care -- along with the demise of cap-and-trade that would nationalize energy -- is very bullish for stocks.
Hat tip to Bill Kristol for the phrase “stocks and cops,” that latter of which were attacked by Obama last night. It looked real bad. In fact his whole garbled, inconsistent, and baffling defense of health care looked real bad. The president’s polls have been falling, especially on his policies. And markets see the possibility that free-market capitalism will live to see another day.

DOes this sound to you like most didnt want this health care to go thru and stock market was just waiting for it to fail and I hope I helped in that to by signing potions for it not to go thru!.
and lets hope that FREE marketing comes back real strong!

I was emailed a questionare from our Ga. Dem Congressman and as he was praising it and wanted all our agreements...Boy did he pick the wrong person to ask! I gave all the reasons why he should not vote for it.

Free market is great, but I have problems with it when at least 40 million people are completely uninsured. What do you say to those people? too bad, you have to pay full price for everything just because youre to poor to do anything about it?

I dont think the press conference was disastarous at all, and I think that the fact the economic stimulus is working is what is promoting the stock market to surge. people that want to critcize Obama and detract from his presidency are the only ones who are concerned with whether or not the stock market can in some ways be related to healthcare.

There is a heavily traversed road in my neck of the woods that has been grossly neglected, its a beat up old road that no one has had the time or money to fix, even when people cram this tiny street every day.not 5 days after he passed the stimulus, a sign goes up saying that the street improvement has been paid for by the obama stimulus package, along with a whole crew of workers eager to make a salary again.

phildozer Sadly that is only one testimony and therefore is only a drop in the bucket not the giant amount of work that he promised would be availble from the stimulus.

Obama also said that the stimulus would take at least 2 years to take full effect. its been maybe 6 months.

Stocks are not driven by one industry such as healthcare. Any economist can tell you sbeing sucessful in stocks has to do with a well rounded approach. I have gained 50% on my stock investment in 3 years. My stocks are Bank of America, Solar Energy Vectors (KWT), Command Security (MOC), Endocare (END) which has been brought by Healthtronics, Looksmart (Look) and Arlington Assets.
A well balanced portfolio is the key to sucess in the Stockmarket.

His approval is falling simply because change simply doesn't happen over night. This is a fact for either side of the aisle. The fact that the President is actually doing something that he promised he would gives me, as well as millions of other americans great hopes for the future
