One of the Queen's guards at Windsor Castle has been arrested for being an illegal immigrant.
Well, you are reading exactly the first lines of the article where one of the Queen's guards is an illegal immigrant believed to be from an African country belonging to the Commonwealth and joined the Army or rather a Guard regiment under a false name.
This is really a considerable blunder for an illegal to be accepted into a Guards regiment, where they have close proximity to the monarch. Imagine a real enemy, accepted in the 1st Battalion Irish Guards where he is being trained as a marksman, given lessons in bombs, various assault weapons, grenades, use a rocket launcher, and knowledge of the Army's radio system and communication codes. And carries out an assignment on the Royal family.
I am sure like everyone the inevitable question "How did this happen?" is on everyone's mind including the Royal family. More atrocious is the fact that this illegal was not discovered until our illegal Jane Doe was arrested for a recent car accident, by Hampshire police and found to have a number of aliases.
Wow! Talking about sleeping on the job and happening at such a facility that was to be secured, it is just unthinkable to speechless for me.
I just cannot imagine what would happen if an assignment was carried out here.
Can you believe this?

Wow! That is amazing that this guy passed all the background checks. Either that or the security and background check must have some big holes in it. Or maybe there is some other reason for this problem.
Either way that should never have happened, ever. If I were the Royal Family I would have been so concerned about this incident.

That is just awful. I bet one thing though, from now on they will have much stricter security and background checks on their employees and potential employees.
You are right, because what if something had happened with this person? What if he had not been drunk and been pulled over and arrested? Wow, I bet the Queen and the entire Royal Family are angry, upset, and frightened from this incident. I would imagine that someone or some people will lose their job as a result of this incident.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

cynthiann,
Well, it happened and fortunately nothing devastating happened with the royal family.
Yet, I am quite curious just what kind of monitoring system they are having at the Irish Guard regiment where they do not have a database for criminals and illegals. Because if it hadn't been for this illegal to be arrested for drunk driving, his false identity would not have come to light at all. I just could not imagine if this bloke is an Al-Queda or Taliban Black Sabbath sleeper and what it would have been.
So on top of what you are feeling, I am just reeling from shock.
