How can parents help kids get into a mind set for heading back to school?
What kind of things do you do? What have you found that works or don't work?

My daughter actually liked going to school. She's in preschool, and it was a lot easier getting her around when she got moved to afternoons, rather than mornings. It was definitely easier on me since I work alot of nights. I don't have to hall both of us our of bed at 6:30 in the morning to try and get her ready before the bus came.
Now, we wake up around 9-ish and then have a few hours to get everyone ready. It's less cranky that way.

My youngest and oldest loved school. My middle child wishes there was no such thing as school. I understand where you are coming from with the morning thing. Our school bus runs at our house at 6:55am. So we are up much earlier than other people.

I know I'll have to deal with mornings once my daughter gets into kindergarten or 1st grade, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I don't have to have my daughter to school until 12:00, and the bus has her at the bus stop about 3:15-3:20. It all works for everyone.
