Extra features in cell phones???

My friend argued with me that having extra features in the cell phones are unnecessary. She said that cell phones are only for communication and the extra features like GPRS, MMS, GPS, chatting, even SMS , Camera, music player, Video player are all unnecessary thing in the cell phones. I do not agree with her statements. Having more than one item in cell phone make things easy and it acts as all in one. Do you agree with me or her?? Do you think extra features are unnecessary?? Your view please...

Hello friend, Perhaps, your friend want a cell phone that is 3210. It is good for a cell phone having more extra feature like that you said. But some features already useless that's maybe the point of your friends. So, don't be bother about your friends idea.

Well, having a lot of features in one package is not all that bad. As long as the features don't compromise each other. The only time that I would think like that would be when the memory that they consume. Say taking lost of pictures, listening to a lot of music, recording a lot and playing videos. Having a lot fo features is a good thing to the extent that there are lots of different users so it would surely accommodate anyone who is familiar with the features available. I mean, if your friend doesn't want to have so much features, she could just purchase a phone that wouldn't have so much features, right?

i agree with her. i think a phone is for communication. if you have everything in one a lose the cellphone then what will you do. if you still have a camera and the other things separate you can still you them. i use my cellphone just for calling i do have some other features and could download some but i just do not want to.

I agree with her, my cell phone has some extra features but i hardly use it. Some people like listening to music, playing game, Playing Mp4 with Cell phone, but i don't like it because it screen is too small to play games and MP4, on the other hand, the battery will ran out soon.

I think the extra features are useful and necessary for me. Absolutely, the main function of cell phone is as a mobile phone. You can use more extra features supplied your life. If you buy a cell phone with other extra features, but you don't need to pay more money, that's great! If you don't like extra features ,you can choose not use it. I think cell phone will be a computer in the future. You can use cell phone doing anything what you want.

The companies are trying to sell their product. so the person who comes up with the next best thing gets more attention. some might not like the extra features. but i personally don't mind the extra features. i mean, its a plus to have a camera with you at all times. (even though the pixels are pretty low). and music player. I like my phone better than my ipod. i have a bag, but for those who dont bring a camera, an ipod and their phone can take a lot of space. Its a modern world, the things you can do with your camera is a skill that everyone should have. example, gps, finding your way. but i hate it when people misuse these things. like the other day, i saw this guy video taping a young teenager. well i think that's what he was doing. pretty disgusting.

I agree with her. It's a phone, period. If you want a camera, buy a camera. If you want to surf the internet stay home and use the computer. If you need directions, buy a map LOL

I do not agree with her. I think all the extra thnings on a cellphone are neccesary. It make you believe that you get more of what you payed for. If it just recieved and made calls, why not just get a house phone? If you buy a phone with a whole lot of extra gadgets then you don't have to buy a whole lot of other things. That might cludder up your house.

I love the extra features on my phone. People say if you want a camera get a camera and if you want to go online get a computer. But isnt it harder to carry a phone, a camera, and a computer at the same time while on the go. I love all the features that my phone has and they are very useful. It is like a computer with Microsoft Windows and I love being able to do everything on the go.

Well I only use the calculator sometimes. However for me I don't have texting, or music playing, or ringtone. I just think its unnecessary for me. I also like to keep my phone bill down as much as possible because I already think the cell phone companies are a rip off. I hope to be giving it up in January when my contract is up.

Extra features is useful and necessary. It is support our activities in our whole days. Like internet mobile(GPRS), i do this feature for chat where ever i go. I use for connect with my friends, however more cheap in monthly cost than sms or call them.

I think cameras, video recorders, and texting on cellphones are pretty useful these days - internet is pretty good too. However, I agree that some things, like a lot of those iPhone applications, are useless unless you are addicted to your phone.

Hi there! In my opinion a cellphone's features would be useful depending on what kind of activities you enjoy or the kind of job you have. If you are just a regular person, always staying home then I don't think you would not need those with GPRS, GPS, chatting and other internet features. If you are the type whose not fond of downloading music and videos, then you would not need those too. But if you are a person whose always on the go, like a businessman, a person who likes to take pictures and videos then these extra features would come very handy. Buying a cellphone has to be in accordance with one's needs and wants too. Ciao!

I have extra features on my cell phone, but I really don't use them either. I am not saying I never would, but for now, I am not suing them. They are there if I would ever decide to use them. I just mainly use my phone for talking and nothing else. I am intending on changing phones and I might use the extra features. My phone is internet capable, but I don't use it s it costs me and extra $30 a month, and right now that is just to much, as I don't have it and I have to watch what I spend, so I will just forgo the extra features until I have money to do soemthing with. Have a great day, and happy mylotting.
