seen or helped out with lately that you thought was neat?
Yesterday, a young woman was making woodburnings for kid campers. She had an electrical burning tool and cedar slats. Every child there was going to get a rememberance of his or her camp experience. One kid saw a ghost, so a ghost slat. My husband spoke to her about the fact that the grapevine was no longer producing, how to cut so it will produce again, and that the vines can be used for so many things. So she's going to put holes in the slats and use the grapevines so the kids can hang them when they get home.
I think that's wonderful of her to create personal memory boards for each child to remember his or her camp experience. I have a wood burning set that I haven't used. The pictures in the set are sooo hard. But this young lady was making simple drawings with simple wood more like I could do. This encouraged me more. Glad we happened along so she can use the cuttings from the grapevine. Now they can be used as wall plaques or pictures.
So what have yhou seen that was neat or you helped out to make even more cool or fun?

I have yet to get started with this. I keep saying I want to get the tools to create this really neat project I saw and also to embellish these little wooden purses I got a while back.

I can recall doing woodburning crafts when I was in the 6th grade. It was our camp project to make a book of memories. I have so often thought about that book and wondered what my mother did with it. Guess it was trashed. I made a few things at home also but can't remember what they were or what I did with them. I use to love the smell of the wood burning as I used the tool. I've seeen so many neat craft projects that I wouldn't know where to begin. I wonder how people think of these different projects.

Maybe wall hangings, but someone below was talking about wooden purses. Carbon paper, I'm sure would work.

That must have been nice to do in the 6th grade. We didn't do it there. I see people at craft shows. I bought a kit, but it's really advanced, like an artist could use, I wish I could have gotten something easy. My owl doesn't look like much.
I wonder how people think of things, too. Even when I think of things, not at the level of a real crafts person. Thanks and take care.

That's great! Wish I had had someone show me simple uses before, but now I have been shown and I think I'll get remotivated and give it a go. Now where is my wood burning kit?

Yes, that is a cool idea.
So the large tree fungi, that's burned in? I thought people used needles or something. I thought they were scratched by pen knife.
I bet the pictures come out neat. What were they of and do you have any photos you can upload to show people?
Sorry you never got the wood burning tools back.
