Bought digital answering machine...need help!

I bought a Casio Phonemate TA-119 at a yard sale today because my other answering machine was a casette one and it broke. I didn't get an instruction manual with it. It's in fairly good shape but I'm wondering if anybody has had any problems with they'res (especially the erasing the messages part) I cant erase nething or set a time and date....wondering if someone could possible help me....thank you!
