I started using Mozilla FireFox and am trying to make it do all the things I was doing in IE... in IE to make a shortcut to place on the desktop, all I had to do was right click on the background of the page I am on, and then click the option "create a shortcut" and it would make an icon for that site on my desktop. I do this for some things I want to either remember to check out more closely or for things I use very regularly so I can just click and not have to search in my favorite places to find where I put them! But I can't find how to do that on FF... I can bookmark pages and then relocate them to appropriate category... but can't make a shortcut to be place on my desktop.. anyone know how?

You might have unchecked the " create desktop icon" option and by default, this will remain checked while installing the browser. If not we need to check that option. You can just uninstall browser from using add/remove programs menu and then install it again and this is going to take less than a minute.

u can actuallt just drag the icon to your desktop, that fixes the problem. U dont have to reintall it to make a shorcut. Although during the installation process youll get the option where u want to place the icon..So just drag it and drop it in your desktop. Mozilla actually works better for mac computers..it works for drag and drop option. good luck!
