What is the most effective anti-virus software?

HELP! My computer is always plagued with different viruses. I have an anti-virus now but still, viruses get to infiltrate my computer! Does anyone know what's the best anti-virus software out there?

I use Avast free version combined with Yahoo anti - spy. I find that these work well together and don't conflict with each other.

i have antivir and it's one of the best plus it's free i use to have avg but i got a virus and had to clear out my computer but now i have no problems, i would never get mckee they suck

Hi, Now time has arrived that anti virus themselves are becoming virus. I have tried, Avast, Avg, Norton and Kespersy. Out of these I found the full version of Norton and Kespersy the better.

I am currently using ESET Nod32 version 4, and I am quite very satisfied with its performance and cleaning power. Before I used AVG but I still get some viruses, and can never clean and detect some viruses.
