how to make good friends with a stranger but will get along with you long time?

almost all of us like and need make friends with others.but how could you make it especially with a stranger who will get along with you long time?It need some skill and experience.You may know somebody who make friends with a stranger easily ,yet,some people have difficulty to do so.why?

I have a hard time getting to know people. Most of the time I end up making friends with people my friends are friends with or I meet some people from my area online and we talk online for several months and then met in person.

Making good friends with someone is sometimes hard. But normally I meet new people through my friends. But if I dont know them completely. You just have to start talking about something you both know, and eventually you'll kick it off with her/him.
