would you pick up a penny if you saw one on the sidewalk?

Some think pennies on the sidewalk are good luck signs, or gifts from angels, etc. Some laugh at that mind thinking and wouldn't bother picking it up. But what should be significant about the penny, is the message that it gives us...."In God we trust." It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it when it is on the ground. Could the penny be truly a reminder from God to trust him in all things? Have we ever found a penny while we were in the midst of a crisis, or deeply troubled about things in our life? Is it possible that God drops a message right in front of us, telling us to trust him, right at the time when we need him? Pennies have become more important to me, I don't care who sees me picking it up.

I pick up pennies all of the time even if their is somebody watching. I guess I do it since it feels like there is somebody watching out for me and I'm not one to turn down any kind of help. The Taoist say that you should never turn down any kind of assistance or offering. The issue as to whether it is showing heads or tails is not really that important for me. Knowing that money is coming to me in some sort of way is what matters. I've had situations where if I spotted a penny on the ground and didn't pick it up I coincidentally had bills start to stack up on me, but on the flip side if I picked up that penny I received money from "Out of the Blue".

I will pick up all sorts of things, including pennies. If I sometimes need a reminder, I will take a coin out of my pocket and just look at it until whatever reason I had has been handed over to God.

Hello friend, I do not remember picking up such a penny but then, yes, I would pick up a penny from the side walk. Not because of its currency value but because of the fact that here in India, we associate all wealth with Goddess Lakshmi and we have been brought up believing that we should never disrespect her.

Besides what you've written, I dont think I'll pick up a penny on the sidewalk. I dont even know where I put all my pennies at home. It's like scattered around anywhere and hardly use it. So.. no, I wont pick up a penny on the sidewalk.

I've let many pennies go by the wayside, because I didn't think it was worth picking up. But, when I got to thinking what it said on the penny, I am now more concience of those that I see, and do pick them up. I stick them in a jar, and it reminds me of how many times I have had to trust in the powers to be.

In a year I have a survey of myself and I found out in picking up pennies. One or two or three pieces on every ground in rural, urban or on the side of the road. Some I do clean them cos some are blurred cos by water, mud, fire and dirt. I reach Php 112.00 (Philippine Peso)in one year personal survey. "Believe It or Not". Some I used in paying bills for cent (Centavos)in my accounts I do pay exact payment cos they did not return my penny change. Cos the cashier running out of cents. Some coins I put in charity cans I saw in every banks, market and malls. Some I use in postcard sending payments to the other people of the world. Peace on Earth. Every penny counts.
