Illustration Programs

I know of Paint, Illustrator, Flash and Photoshop, but I was wondering if there are any other useful illustration programs available? Preferably for a Macintosh, as that is what I am using, although I am curious about other PC programs as well.

Illustrator is the best program for vector illustrations. Photoshop can also get the job done normally though. There's also an open source program (Free) called Inkscape that you might want to try before buying anything. Not sure if it works on Mac too though.

very good advice, I have found many different illustration programs in their download section
