Ok, so billions of people have tried to convince me to use Firefox, instead of Internet Explorer. I happen to be ok with Internet Explorer. Yes it does have issues, true. I had/have no desire to put anymore software on my computer. Then someone mentioned that Firefox has a portable version. That sold me and I put it on a USB drive as an occassional alternate browser. It worked well for awhile and then it stopped and I couldn't open it. It immediately comes up with a Firefox crash report and I can't even open the browser. I had to erase it from that flash drive, for other reasons, so I redownloaded it from Firefox's site onto another flash drive. It is still doing the same thing I cannot open it at all. Does anyone know what is causing this? What browser(s) do you use? Which do you like best and why? According to everyone else Firefox is flawless, no errors. Uh, yeah right! Thanks!

Yep, I noticed that it isn't flawless, since I can't open it . Though, I often had people try to tell me that it was. Thanks for your response!

The standard Firefox isn't portable on its own - it'll save your profile and related files in the current user's profile... either make your own environmental changes or use the portableapps version that includes a loader to perform those functions. Yes, Firefox does include hidden features too, aka bugs... grab a gestures add-on and Flashblock... they'll give you a boost to browsing with Firefox... ^_^ Personally, I use a combination of Opera, Firefox and IE... Opera is the fastest... Firefox has lots of add-ons... and IE - some stupid software insist on using IE...

Yeah, the portable version is the one I am trying to use. That is true that some site will not work without IE. That is one of the reasons I am ok with using just IE. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Hello, Yea I am a Firefox user, but have had no problems with it so far. I don't know about you, but comparing with Internet Explorer and Opera, Firefox had only about 3 times when it crashed. IE and Opera crashed on average of 6 times per day. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I use firefox. I also have Internet Explorer and I use it for some things. Firefox has a lot of permissions when you play certain games you have to add stuff. But not very many. I feel a lot safer going to websites I don't know on firefox. I never have popups or virus problems when using it. When I just used Internet Explorer for everything, I had a lot of problems.

I have never had any viruses or pop ups with Internet Explorer. Though, I do hear people talk about not getting any with Firefox. I guess if I ever did get them I would try to switch, but luckily I have never had that sort of a problem. I do have Internet Explorer bug issues on a rare occassion, but they are better than Firefox, since I can actually open Internet Explorer . Thanks!
