Here is part of what former Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska said in her farewell speech yesterday, obviously taking a final, not too well-veiled shot at actress Ashley Judd: "You're going to see anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood and here's how they do it. They use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets, they use Alaska as a fundraising tool for their anti-second amendment causes." You may recall that Judd had made an ad for the Defenders of Wildlife against Palin's aerial wolf-hunting policies. You can watch it here: http://www.drudge.com/news/123459/palin-takes-parting-shot-ashley-judd In the ad, Judd condemns Palin for a state policy encouraging the aerial hunting of wolves. “Palin even proposed a $150 bounty for the severed foreleg of each killed wolf,” Judd says. “And now she is encouraging even more aerial killing. It is time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery.” At the time Palin released a statement calling the ad, paid for by Defenders of Wildlife, “reprehensible and hypocritical.” “The ad campaign by this extreme fringe group, as Alaskans have witnessed over the last several years, distorts the facts about Alaska’s wildlife management programs,” Palin said. “These audacious fundraising attempts misrepresent what goes on in Alaska, and I encourage people to learn the facts about Alaska’s positive record of managing wildlife for abundance.” “Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these rough economic times,” she continued. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/18406.html You know what, some people are OK with the type of animal slaughter that goes on in Alaska and other are not. Maybe those of us who think it's "senseless savagery" as Ashley Judd said don't completely understand what it's like up there in the wilderness but somehow I think there has to be a better way to control the population. Anyway, that's NOT THE POINT. If Sarah wanted to complain about "Hollywood" she could at least have been HONEST about it. That ad had nothing to do with Second Amendment rights or about hunting for food. Remember, "We eat, therefore we hunt"? Sarah, please, STOP MAKIN' THINGS UP!! Annie

If the former governor stops makin' things up and stops her silly attacks, how is she supposed to continue getting any press attention? As the governor of a state, as well as a very polarizing figure, she was able to call upon the press any time she wanted to and they showed up. She'll lose that power quickly as a private citizen and especially as someone who is a professional campaigner and/or speaker...unless she surronded by controversy, which attacking the media and Hollywood is an attempt to do.

The media hasn't exactly been honest when it comes to Sarah Palin.

LOL irish the media isn't exactly honest when it comes to anyone, not just Sarah Palin. Spalladino I don't think she will lose her chances with the media. There was so much controversy about her during the campaign I'm sure for years to come some talk show, or reporter will want to do a story on her. Granted she won't be in the lime light so to speak but I'm sure she'll have her future 15 minutes of fame.

I don't understand how slaughtering animals is a second amendment issue. Palin really doesn't make any sense to me, it must be some type of Republican/Conservative "talk" that us Liberals do not understand.

Nobody said it was. They are two separate causes that are both championed by some Hollywood starlets just like she said. I gave a short list of Hollywood starlets that oppose 2nd ammendment rights below. FYI, unless you're a vegetarian you're supporting the wholesale slaughter of animals everytime you eat meat.

Well I don't need to tell you about the anti-hunting obviously, but are you so anti-Palin that you can't even acknowledge the anti-second ammendment celebrities? Here are a few that clearly match Palin's description: Krista Allen, Drew Barrymore, Christie Brinkley, Kim Cattrall, Sheryl Crow, Rebecca DeMornay, Fran Drescher, Mia Farrow, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones. The list goes on pretty long if you want to read it. http://gunowners.org/fs0302.htm Seriously Annie, what EXACTLY did she make up?

Annie, I am here to defend wild life management. All I am going to say is if you don't live there and you haven't bothered to bone up on wildlfe management, than you (and Ashley Judd) should probably keep your critisism to things you do understand. I haven't talked to a game warden or forestry agent yet who thought this was "sensless slaughter".
