Hi dear mylot users, Are you aware of the fact that it is appreciated that you regularly resolve your discussions? Resolving discussions in mylot is nothing more than assigning the best response. The best response recipients will be very grateful that you thought about them. Who knows they even show you their gratefulness by responding on a discussion. Just a little tip. :) If you have tips for your fellow mylotters please share them. :)

Hi there! Thanks for bringing this tip to our knowledge. It is a sort of reminder to those, who do not resolve their discussions and show a lazy attitude and I am one of the them.........LOL! Best responses, must be selected so as to finalise the discussions, however, my problem is that I get so many responses, that when I go for selecting the best one, I need to re-read the entire disucssion again and that looks tedious to me.............LOL! One tip, I would like to share with you. Please always post your comments on the responses, it will be a good practice for strethening the bonds between you and the respondent and moreover, you are also get paid for your descriptive comments.

Hi there! Thanks for calling me lazy. You are right that awarding the best response does not mean that the discussion will come to end (even if it does not get reactivated I won't mind or if it gets re-activated, I'll welcome it). I agree with you views, you appear wise to me.

You lazy old chap While awarding a best response might sometimes end a discussion it is not always the case, sometimes it seems to be like an incentive to actually keep on posting back and forth in some way. Sometimes it might as well be worthwhile to go off-topic when talking to friends, this provokes back and forth discussing as well. But it's not done in reaction to some users who are here to have serious discussions, that is my experience at least.

Choosing a best response is certainly one way of reviving your older discussions. It puts them back near the top of the list where recent friends can respond to them.

In my experience it is positive. You'll usually get a couple new reponses when you do it because it revives the discussion and most people wait to award them when the discussion has stopped getting active comments.

That's exactly the theory I put forward to Mike. It might deter people to respond but on the other hand it revives a discussion. The question is does awarding a BR generally have a positive or negative effect on the potential responses? I am not biased to either of the possibilities.

regarding my latest and recent discussion, i have no intention as yet resolving them. simply because the answer were not even conclusive to my discussion and not a good part for an ending of my topics. i am still waiting, some one might pop-up better response.

It's not recommended to award a BR right after discussion start anyway. So it's best to just revive your discussion by responding on comments, preferably an alluring post which gives the user a reason to respond back and forth.

I mostly resolve my discussions so that I can have a good reputation here on mylot.

I don't do it for getting a good reputation and I think nobody should do it for such reasons. It is more like a polite gesture to them who really put effort in their responses. Another advantage is that it sometimes actually revives discussions and increase earnings.

Yeah.. Just now I have realised too. There was an increase in my earning when I resolved some of my discussions. I did not respond to any of the discussions that and still I found that there was an increase my earnings that day. I was wondering how ? I think its because I resolved the discussions. So better resolve your discussions.

I am aware of this. In fact just a week ago or so, I managed to get my 1 year old discussion finally resolved. One of my very good friends answered the discussion and I was able to resolve it. In fact, after that another answered and I gave BR once and for all and that's it.. For myself, I think I take no more than 3 days to decide a BR for any particular discussion. That's because I would definitely forget if I keep on shoving and shoving the thoughts to. I respect fellow mylotters and I feel that by awarding a BR as soon as I could get the best and reasonable answer that I feel cool, the more better. Hope this helps..

MyLot recommends to wait at least one week but mylot members even longer. So I'd advice you to do the same, after all you could make a note or make it a habit to resolve discussions once in a while.

Not only should you give best response, you should also rate your responses. That way, we will rate your topic of discussion and you'll rank higher! cheers!

Oh my, you're right. What's wrong with me today... ehehe. Could you please explain how one benefits from rating? I mean I am not aware of any advantages for your rating when you rate. Sorry for my english, I hope it's clear what I mean, otherwise I am willing to attempt a rephrase. Thanks once again.
