Well my eye sight is slowly taking the toll seeing that I spend the majority of my time online! But I have always been long sighted as I see things much better afar than closer range. I now have the boring task to decide whether I wear glasses or contact lenses.. I hate them both as not only do they look uncomfortable but I kind of look old in glasses and contacts make me look fake!Anyway how is your eyesight? would you say you're short sighted or long sighted? and have you got to that age where glasses/contacts are needed?

I am long sighted kind of person. But I seldom wears glasses or lenses because I really hate to put something on my nose, or in my eye balls. But, at night time, I have to wear glasses or lenses whenever I want to drive. Because without glasses at night time, I can't see even one thing.

I am short sighted and my left eye is worse than my right eye. I got glasses at the age 10 to help me read books and the black board in the classroom. I didn't like wearing them in my teenage years. When I went around the world I had my prescription sunglasses and ordinary glasses with me. I was in Sydney at age 21 when I began thinking about getting contact lenses. I talked to some other travelers that had contact lenses. When went to an optician and got disposable contact lenses. I went on a bus and had an amazing view. I got such a much better view than I did wearing my glasses.

Yes I have heard that contacts are far better than regular glasses as you tend to see better and if you're travelling its a safer method in storing them. But for some reason I see much better in the night than during the day but I think I will go for the lenses.. glasses really don't suit me.

I have been wearing glasses since I was 11. I am nearsighted with astigmatism and now that I've passed 40 I also need reading glasses (presbyopia).

Hi jellymonty, I'm short sighted and wouldn't leave the house without my glasses or I wouldn't be able to find the way back, or see the potholes I'd probably fall into. Luckily I can breeze round in sunglasses most of the time outside as it's nearly always sunny here unless it's dark, then I change them. I know one guy who wears his sunglasses day and night - he was up at the hospital last week at the same time as a friend of mine - probably through wearing his sunglasses to ride his motorbike at night. I asked my friend if this guy was wearing his sunglasses in the hospital bed and I was amazed to hear he wasn't. I can take them off when I relax though and read a good book with perfect near vision.
