In the Philippines and Japan they always practice Earthquake Drill. To save your dear life one of the best thing you will always have a bag near you with food and water as a survival kit.

Hi my dear myLot friend,
In most part of the India, there are very rare instance of earth-quake, so the question of rehabilitation/rescue work does not arising. HOwever, there are instances, as the world has having number of continents, subcontinents, with various physical, environmental regions through out the world, where for every frequently, there may be changes in the physical conditions of the particular subcontinent. where the local government with help of voluntary organisation able to takle such situations take up rehabilitation / rescue operations where-ever the need arises in general.

It is so sad how thousands of people suffer from the effects of earth quakes. I see that on the TV, so pathetic. I make donations to international organizations, i.e. International Red Cross and others, which do excellent rescue and rehabilitation programs.
