Moon: Slowly drifting away from earht's orbit

Yes, earth's moon is slowly drifting away from us by about 1.5 inches every year. According to scientists or astronomers this occurs because earth rotates faster than the moon orbits the earth. Moon's orbit widens every year and it's orbital momentum decreases. Eventually, the moon will escape earth's gravitational pull and will slowly drift away on it's own. Not to worry though, this will happen in about million or billion of years away which in my estimation all life here in earth will probably be gone.
