How do you feel when Antivirus software is scheduled for scanning the whole machine during the work hours once in a week ? I feel very bad for this, it slows down my computer and all of my applications are frozen. Why should the schedule be during the office work hours ?

Yeah its very irritating. I stop it as soon as it starts. The PC gets very slow when the scan is in progress. Unfortunately you cant turn it off.. cuz then IT team will be notified and they will ask u to turn it on again !

Yeah, better option to put it in night time. But, this will again consume power to have machine switched on whole through the night. Good if we turn on the option to shut down machine after scan gets completed.

I sometimes get irritated too when that happens but i believe that it is a necessary inconvenience so that I can make sure that my system is not infected by any virus. Sometimes when I am already in a hurry to finish something, I just turn the scan off and turn it on again after my work. I guess the schedule is during work hours because that is the time the PC is turned on. maybe you can have it set on the part of the day when you have less work to do, or maybe during lunch breaks.

I have manual scans as scans greatly lowers the performance capabilities especially when you are using a celeron chip.It is very irritating and i often stop the scan. It searches through all hard disks and even cut, copy and paste take more time than normal. While the same doesnt go with my dad's office lappy. Its an HP elitebook powered with intel core 2 quad and it can run both the 2 procceses flawlessly.

hi yeomanly well I was fuming at how slow my computer was running when I realized it was AVG running the scan that interfered in what I wanted to do . so my son reprogrammed it to run once a week at four pm when I went down to supper, that way it would' not interfere with doing other things on the computer. This was a great help as before I was having so much trouble trying to do' anything while the anti virus was running. wow.

I also turn off my scheduled scan. It is used to auto scan when I download new files or extract zipped files. Also monitoring the network when connecting to the internet. I will check my PC once I feel or regconize problem(s) occur.
