learn by yourself or learn with a teacher?

learning - I was learning in a classroom, and preparing for the GRE test, which was pictured two years ago. I still remember that time and appreciate that precious experience.

Whether we need a teacher or not? For me, I like to learn by myself, because i can focus my attention on an area without any disturbance. I can also read books and understand the knowledge from my point of view. Yes, teachers can guuide the direction, however, I don't wanna be told which part is more important and which part should spend less time. And it is my inner interests guide me and tell me how to read and understand books.

Education is for everyone, we learn in our daily activities, we learn my ourselves and with teacher also, we even learn as time goes on we never stops learning, its a two way process and a give and take process. Learning with others are a very good example and we can apply it or not in our daily activites. We learn as the teacher teaches us and teacher learn from as also.

A few months back, My thinking was exactly the same as yours is now. But the results shocked me. We studied for the whole semester without any kind of help from teachers. We were the students of number 1 college in our state. Results came and none of us was listed in the top 20 merit list of our state. I scored 76% but now I realize that if I would have been guided by my teachers, I would have scored over 80%. So there is always a need of a good teachers, but good techers are always rare.

I have been an online student for almost two years now and i am in my last class so i will be getting my degree very shortly. I don't want to be in a class with a teacher as that is very boring to me, and i don't have to sit down for a certain amount of time, as there are other things i want to do during the time other kids are sitting in a class room. I like to be shopping, cleaning around the house making it nice and i also like to spend time with family and friends. You can also have a full time job and go to class online as that is making good money and being able to pay for college.

i need both, but i want a teacher with a very good technique in discussing the lesson and has a very good skills to let me understand... i need to be alone to focus and think deeply why that things done. We have different level in understanding that's why we have different way to learn... an am sure you are fast learner coz you even understand by yourself., while other like me need teacher and other need tutor more than one person in order to learn.

Im in my second year of college/university and now complete my college work extramurally. Basically online and through the post. Even during my highschool years it was clear that I was a natural learner and could teach myself in a fraction of the time it took the teacher to teach the rest of the class. I never found I had any questions and instantly absorbed the information I read ect.. Last year I enrolled in traditional classes on campus but again found that I work better at my own pace and found it a bit of a waste of time attending classes. I love teaching myself and find it frees up time for my other activicties including learning French, travelling and acting. Its nice to hear about others who feel similiarly. I too enjoy discovering which paticular topics interest me and then investigating them on my own.

If teacher is good, then it makes it easier to learn the main points and you can figure out further things by yourselves. If teacher isn't good and couldn't teach well its lots of easier to learn by yourselves. And you learn those things better since you have made more effort to get the results.
