When your children grow out of their clothing, do you cash in what you can? I'm thinking about taking my children's clothing to Once Upon A Child to get either money, or credit at the store so that my kids and have clothes, shoes and stuff. It's definitely a good idea. To bad there were places that did that with adult clothing. lol

My kids have a lot of cousins that are not too well-off so we just give their clothes away to their cousins. We usually buy their clothes a size larger so by the time they outgrow the clothes, its usually too worn out to sell. If it does not fit any of their cousins then we just give it away to other people who are less fortunate.

I wouldn't think cashing in my old clothes would be a good idea. What my parents did is donate to family friends, so it will put to better use, or donate it to charities. I doubt people would pay money for second hand clothes, but it will really help people who are in need of free clothes, so that's why my parents donated it.

I'm hoping to sell some of the ones I have at a consignment store. I think that is a pretty good use for some old clothes. The clothes are good to sell particularly if they are name brands. people are always interested in name brand clothing. it is is best for many purposes I think.

I usully just sell off some of my daughters clothes that she has outgrown on ebay and whatnot. I must say i dont really like to part with stuff as its all so small and it reminds me of when she was a newborn.
I have never heard of stores where you can hand in your secondhand clothes in echange for store credit, i think it may be just a US thing?
