A woman in the UK didn't realize her cat was missing until a friend called her and said he was on television!! She'd been watching the same show, but had walked into another room just as he appeared, so she rewound the recording and was able to verify that, indeed, there was her little Tango. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/devon/8174850.stm Of course, her proximity to the studio helped make this possible, but can you imagine suddenly realizing your cat isn't about and there he is stealing the limelight on an otherwise serious show? Would you be embarrassed? Would you be concerned? Would you think it was hilarious? Or maybe a little of all of those?

Yes I would, my neighbors cat is mischievous and is always wanting to go for a ride in someone else's car it will climb right in. But I think it is cute..maybe they should make him one of the new school's mascot..lol

I think my cat, Nefret, got lost when she went for a ride in one of the workmen's trucks - or they just decided to take her home that last day.

That happened once to me..my neighbors across the street loved my cat and their kids was always calling it over to play with it.. I didn't mind to much since the cat enjoyed it alot. But when they moved they took my cat with them..It came up missing and I just thought he was out tom catting around, but I heard later from my niece who was one of their kids friends out that they took the cat when they moved. I was mad..so now I have one cat and try to keep him close to home.

well, it was more like 3 seconds, but funny! I can see a few of my cats doing that - only Rygel or Kit would probably be on the desks mugging people for pets

Yeah, I did. I think he's a doll, looks kind of like Oliver! That's another cute story, think these smart cats in England are something else!

Did you also watch the bus one since that's apparently the link I put? He's a doll, isn't he? I'm glad they're cooperative with him. Around here, they'd freak and run him out - health violations and all that nonsense.

That is so cute! I would laugh, and I would be so happy that my cat actually thought of all of that. I am trying to teach my one-year-old cat, Lucky, how to do things that my other cats cannot do, and to think that this cat can actually ride a bus like that is amazing. The owner should not be embarrassed or concerned, they should be happy that their cat is that intelligent. You might be a little concerned for the cat's safety, but other than that, the cat knows what to do. That cat is amazing.

Wrong link first, but I also like the story of Casper, the bus cat. My former cat mane was Casper. Animals are smarter than we think. Cat in the studio? Maybe looking for mouse...

I found that out. The second poster has the right link, but it should also be on the same page as Casper's story, which I also loved.

That links to a story about a cat that like to travel around on the bus which I found amusing enough. The link to the Tango story is here. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/8131264.stm Cats are such wonderful independant creatures

Oh for pete's sake. I had looked at both and went back to the original, but it must not have changed the URL at the top or something. I like both, though, so glad you enjoyed them, too.

I would be extremely concerned, as my cat is strictly an indoor cat. The only time he goes outside is to go to the vet. so he prefers to stay inside and view the outside world through a window.

Now that is a unique story!

That is so kewl. I wonder if the bus drivers knew where Tango lived before this aired on TV. I wouldn't be embarrassed though. Concerned, yeah. Hilarious, most definately.

Aww--I managed to see both links posted. My question..how the heck did Tango get to that news type station anyway? As for the other story about the bus cat..mmmm...does he have to pay a fare?

I loved both stories actually... it's very interesting and shows how complicated cats thinking could be lol... my cats would never do it, they are too scared of people... but i'd be laughing and terrified for a cat at the same time i think...
