Have you ever been to ladies night at a bar?

And what was it like, if you have? If you haven't, why not?
It sounds like it's too good to be true, if you ask me. Ladies night, for those of you who aren't familiar, are usually certain days of the week where ladies either have no cover charge or get totally free drinks (or reduced-price drinks). Why do you think bars can afford to do this? Would you suggest going to this?

Ladies' Night = tons and tons of guys in a bar (more like Boys' Night Out instead)... this makes me think twice about heading off into bars every wednesdays. But there are some bars that don't do this on the usual Wednesdays, which makes it more fun for me because there is a fair number of guys and girls...
What's nice about this though are the free drinks and no entrance fee~ enjoyment for the girls all night long. :D

Where the girls are, the boys will follow....and in droves! They usually pick an "off" night (slower business night) to hold ladies night, as the lure of no cover or cheaper drinks will prompt more people to come out. I have never heard of one offering free drinks to ladies, but no cover charge/reduced price drinks/drink specials are normal. I am sure the bar more than makes up for the loss in normal profits due to the amount the men would be buying, or foodstuffs they might be serving. Also, i find that there usually is not any live entertainment or dj on these nights, just the jukebox, and this saves them money as well.

Lol, ya know hon, one might begin to think you were a lush or something with all the booze threads you just posted.
Ladies night is probably the BEST night for a single guy to go to a bar....or the worst. He can wind up with a bunch of drunken partying happy gals, or a bar full of angry drunk bitter gals.
I imagine bars can afford to do this because of the volume of sales they make on that particular night. Not only from the ladies that come in for ladies night, but the guys thatalso come in because it is ladies night.

yes. Ladies night usually happen every Wednesday, Don't know with other places. It is where ladies has a free access almost in all clubs. Bars/clubs, owners usually do this as a marketing strategies, they use women to attract male customers. As i observed men flack together when they saw bunches of ladies drinking and dancing....
