Spot on my cervix found

During my routine pap last month, they found some ascus cells on my cervix. Last Tuesday, I had to have a colposcopy done to see what the extent of the cells was. Well, they are pre-cancerous and now next week I have to have cryotherapy (freezing) done on the cells which will supposedly cause them to die off. It sucks! We both are finally on the same page about trying to conceive, and now I have to wait until I'm in the clear with these cells. I guess it was better to find this out now before getting pregnant and chance miscarriage again, but I'm still a little disappointed. I've waited along time for my second child, and I'm a good mother and person, I'm just ready for my son to have a playmate and have a little baby to hold and love again. I feel sappy, but darn, who put the bad karma on me?

I am so thankful that this was found early and that you have a beautiful child. My sister had a growth in her pancreas that was noncancerous but was growing so fast that she had to have part of her pancreas removed. This is not so easy as it involves taking part of the stomach and gallbladder too. She was taken to the organ transplant floor to recover. A very serious operation. While I know you want to have another baby, I am thankful that you won't have to go through something like my sister had to. I wish you well in this process and hope that everything heals quickly.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I am thankful that they found it, and it's small. There are a few patches, but atleast they are small. Thanks for your post!

I'm just now getting back to this thread but I wanted to come by and say that you sound like a kind-hearted person. Thank you so much for your inspiration and positive attitude!

We are so thankful also that these things can be found quickly. Some choices in life are very hard. I will never forget the tears rolling down my sister's cheek as they wheeled her in for the operation. Many people really don't work after such an operation. She has had to go back to work to support three children in high school/college. She is a single mom. I was only able to have one child but I have learned that there are many children who need someone to love them and pray for them. A simple act of volunteering at the school or helping out in the community is so needed and your loving heart for children does have a place to fit in this world. God bless you on your life's journey.

I think you should be looking at this situation in a different way, just be thankful that it is not cancer that could very well put you through a lot of pain and possibly take your life...you are blessed and I hope you will have that baby in the near future but for now be thankful for life as is...

I agree with you, I guess you have to understand my history with having my son and understand the "karma". My son was an artificial insemination case, my ex-husband was fertile. Anyway, we got pregnant on the 1st try, and then I ended up having my son at 26 weeks gestation. He has a lot of medical issues. After I had him, I ended up getting VERY sick in my c-section and had to have 6 surgeries. It was an awful mess. Anyway, it just seems like I have no good luck in the pregnancy department... then this whole cervix scare is just MORE to deal with. I am grateful though, hopefully it can be removed and taken care of and I can work on my 2nd child.

There is no karma, its just life, the unpleasant part of it. Its good that they found these ascus cells before you got pregnant, like you said, you don't want another missed opportunity.

Thanks :) I guess I didn't really mean Karma, it just one of those things, and I've had so much bad luck in the baby/pregnancy department. It was just another blow. Thankfully, I should be okay after this is all done. I pray everyday!

You blessed u found this early, I believe everything happens for a reason. So many find out to late, you'll get the cells frozen off, then the baby u crave will come along. It could have been so much worse. Count your blessings you one of the lucky ones! Liz

Hey, take it as you have good karma to find it instead of having it grow unknown about! I am sure that after you get that all figured out you can go about having as many children as you want unrestricted hehe, just make sure you keep getting paps to keep in check with potential cancer. I wish I wasn't so embarrassed to have those done or I would, it is good to know if you are healthy or not, I don't think I would have a problem though, I am only 19. Maybe I will be less embarrassed in the future, which is usually the case for women. Soon enough your son with have a playmate to be a big brother to. Good luck with the cryotherapy, I am sure all will go well and you will be able to move on with that and have no problem.

Don't be embarrassed to get yourself checked out. Like you said, it's good if they find things early. You can also get the vaccinations for HPV and other cervical cancers that they have now. Unfortunately, I'm too old to have the vaccines now. Thanks for your support!
