I am so excited, my sister is going to get me a chinchilla as my birthday present. we will go get it this weekend. any of you had a chinchilla before? I remember I had two when i was really young, now i already forgot those memories. Anything to recommend what to do? ohh name ideas? I can't tell you how excited i am, oh also i have a small mini- pincher at home, do you think that will be a problem? but i will of course have a cage for my chinchilla, what do you think? =D

Chinchilla Mom & Baby - Chinchillas bred in captivity should be kept indoors as they can’t withstand extremes of temperature. An ideal cage size for a pair of Chinchillas is approximately 85 x 100 x 40cm. You may also consider adding a separate run in the garden or allowing your pets some daily supervised exercise outside their cage. Chinchillas love climbing, so place platforms, ramps, and perches at different heights inside their cage.
I think chinchilla's are awfully cute. I do feel that they are a bit too timid for my household as we are loud and busy, people and pets, during the day. Chinchillas are nocturnal and would have a hard time adjusting to all the noise. I hope you have a wonderful time with your new Chinchilla. Here is some information you may find helpful. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/pets/chinchilla.htm Brightest blessings, Mari

thankyou for your comment, i have her age next to me now, but wow she is so active i am surprised. i read that chinchilla are active animals, but she is very active. she jumps around the cage, bites her house. Did you have a chinchilla before? and by the way, thanks for sharing the site, it is very helpful to me.
