Hi, Icesmile! It never occurred to me to use various colors in lighting in the house. What an interesting idea! I think I might just add a colored bulb or two to the list next time I go shopping. The lighting is normal compact fluorescent, in lamps with white shades in most rooms, and ceiling lights in the kitchen and bathrooms. Variety seems interesting...

I prefer to use shadowed or dimmed lights in my bedroom since most of the surfing and book-reading is done in the Hall. Bedrooms, I think need to allow natural sunlight too, helps to keep away germs and also leaves ones room and linen smelling fresh. In the nights it can get real disturbing if the lights are too strong, preferbaly yellow lights are better than whites, in my opinion.

We use dark blue color in our bed room. The main reason is it is close to the natural dark black of night and it will not be disturbing our sleep. Moreover it is cool.Using a dark green color will also give the same impact. But a red or an orange color is irritating for me and so I avoid it.Cheers!

I have a white long bulb in my bedroom, i use it only if i am reading something or looking for the things, and if i am going to sleep i use to turn it off, to feel fresh and cool feeling, and it makes me sleep better.

I just have a light fixture with two 60 watt regular white bulbs in it. In order to get more light in there without upping the wattage of the bulbs and using more energy, I have chosen to remove the frosted white shade, and put it on the top shelf of the closet. I'm more interested in practiciality than style.
