Did you know you can clean most of the dust and lint from between the keys on your computer's keyboard by sliding a bit of double sided tape between the keys? It works great!

I've used the tip of a clay carving tool - but I don't think the double sided would handle the cat fur and stuff in mine

well, with linoleum floors, sweeping works just as good as vacuuming, and takes only a little more time, but doesn't care as much if there's something wet or large on the floor...

With all the cats you have I am surprised that you don't use a vaccum.

I would imagine you would get a lot of use out of a vaccum!

That's a really great tip. I wouldn't think that that would work. I will have to remember this because mine is always dirty. Hmmm.... Imagine that!

I told you I was trying to save money for some clean dirt. It's just so hard to find good quality these days. Everytime I sweep, you can't see anything for three days! I'd invite you over but the walls need to be mowed.

Must be from all the dirt and humidity in the cave.

You should get some tips from that guy in Colorado who is living in a cave to prove he can live without money!

well I don't have a mini vacuum either but I have a small attachment with the vacuum and open a slot so some air goes out and there is not much suction on the keyboard, it works fine as well.

Well, I don't have carpet so I use a broom vac and it doesn't have a hose. The computer ones are not expensive I just forget from time to time.

You're welcome! I keep meaning to get that special attachment for use on comupter keyboards or one of the mini vaccums for computers.

Thank you for the tip, Canellita. I usually use a special soft brush or the edge of a baby wipe between the keys, but will have to give the double-edeged tape a try. Karen

Hmmm, a baby wipe... I may have to try that one. Keep those in the bathroom to clean up after #2, lol. Sorry, I am sure that was TMI!

this is great, what I do though is I take the keys off one by one and I clean in between, my keys get dirty really quickly because we have three cats and the cat hair somehow gets in between the keys as well.

I hadn't done it in a while and you would think I had cats in here with what came up!

I didn't know that. Super cool..I have always been using tissue papers to slot through in between the keys and it can be a bit of a hassle.

I know that tape will stick to furniture etc, so I guess I should have known it works just as well with keyboards, neat trick, and I'm sure lint roller sheets (folded over) will do the trick as well! Appreciate that!

Lint roller sheets might do the trick but the tape is already in small enough (and thin enough) strips to easily slip between the keys.

Thanks for a wonderful tip. I used to clean my keyboard with cotton buds so I can reach in between the keys.

That's a great idea! Save the time of taking out all the keys, and putting them back. Right now I'm using a laptop, the keyboard is much compact and easier to type. The speed is obviously slower than desktop, but it works well enough. The only setback is when I play online game, always die in the game!

I hate playing certain games on the laptop because the touchpad doesn't respond well enough!

cool, very nice tip, i will try this again next time. what i am doing here right now, is that i have a brush that i use, actually two brushes, a paint brush and a make-up brush the one that is big, and brush the sides of the keyboard. i also use cotton buds. and sometimes, i take the key off and clean what's underneath it and then put it back.

You may want to get the wide kind. I always forget to do that.
