R.I.P. Sir Bobby Robson

July 31, 2009 9:38am CST
Ex-England team manager and soccer legend Sir Bobby Robson has died from cancer. A sad day indeed as he really was one of the gents of the game and raised a whole lot of money for his cancer charity. He will be deeply missed- RIP Bobby.

It is sometimes easy to forget the influence he had on the continent as well as with the likes of England, Newcastle and Ipswich. As a manger of PSV, Barcelona, Porto and Sporting he had a lot of admirers around Europe.

Yeah people do forget that he had a good career in Europe. I was on the Barcelona website earlier and they are singing the praises of the man. He will be sadly missed.

There are not many people that leave such a mark in the world of football that will always be remembered, no matter what club they played for or coached. Sir Bobby Robson is, without any doubt, one of them. Only in such moments we come to realize we should show people like him more appreciation while they are still around to receive it... May his soul rest in peace!

I was watching some of the tributes to Sir Bobby last night on television here in the UK. I do not think there is anyone who has a bad word to say about the great man.
