How do you go about making friends?

I've always made friends everywhere I go. Not that making friends is easy for me but I've somehow always manage to make a close group of friends, whether it was in high school or now in college. With some of my friends, I have to be the one to approach them; however, with others, they're the ones that approached me first. Do you make friends easily? Do you usually approach people first or do they approach you? What are some of your experiences in meeting friends for the first time?

Well, it is 50:50. Sometimes people approach me at the very first time, but sometimes I approach them first. Well, it is always great and fun for me meeting another new friends, especially when he or she comes from different country other than mine. So, we can learn and exchange point of view of theirs. It's also challenging for me to make a new friend, because we have to respect each other's boundaries and try the best not to offend them. =)

Making friends has not always been an easy thing for me...I was the kid everyone made fun of in elementary school because I was the "big" kid. But I feel as you get older friends just become a natural part of life. You dont really have to work hard at making friends as the years go on...it just sort of happens through work, school, sports, bars anything. I feel that if you just be yourself where ever you are that you are bound to make a friend.
