Best Responses???

I just went through my unresolved discussions and marked down the best responses, although there is a part of me that feels bad because I hate zeroing in on one person because 99% of the time there is more than one good answer. Now I know that that is something that you don't have to do but is nice thing to do. I normally wait until about 4 weeks after I have started a discussion to go in and choose a best response...and then I normally look for the length as well as the best response of course LOL. So what it is that you look for in a response and how long do you usually wait before giving a response out?

Choosing a best response can be hard. Depending on the topic, I look for relevance and smarts or humor and wittiness and creativity. I hate zeroing in on one person as well and wish I could give more then one best response out lol.

Yeah, there's often more than one I could mark as a best response. I'm always puzzled by those who start a discussion... and I look at it perhaps no more than four hours after it was started, and they have already picked a "best response?" Four HOURS? I tend to wait weeks (and sometimes longer) before resolving discussions. I look for relevance, of course... and perhaps for a little originality to suggest that I actually made this person THINK a bit, before they started writing. I don't necessarily look for a lot of length-- I've seen some very concise answers that were "spot on." I'm slightly picky about language (Hey, I used to be an editor, OK?)... at least I'd like to see a few complete sentences in something that vaguely resembles English.

Dear friend, Now I would wait for bit long, before I had got better responds after I had given best responds, still I gave +++. Hence now I would wait a bit.

I don't have any specific time limit for this. If I feel that the response is the solution for my issue, then I will make it as best response immediately.Else I will not care about them. If I don't have anything to participate in some days, then I will review my old discussions one by one and I will read the responses and I will leave a comment if not already and will mark the best response. Still I am having about 200 unresolved discussions. I am finishing them slowly now.

I probably shoud wait longer than I do, but I wait a week or more, and maybe I should wait a month. Usually after a week or two, some discussions will tap out and you get no more responses, so in that case I think it would be okay to give the best response. I give the best response to the one response that has the best content, is descriptive and sticks to the topic at hand. Sometimes it is hard though especially if I have more than one good response. I will just go bck and read them all again, and maybe one more time so that I didn't maiss anything. Then and only then will I give the best response. It lest the user know that I was thinking of them and that their response had made a difference. I have received quite a few best responses myself, and it was totally unexpected as well, but it makes me feel good that someone though enough of my response to choose it. Good lcuk to you and happy mylotting.
