Watching TV online.

When at my mom's I like to watch some tv online - her internet is faster and often we have time to sit and watch a show. I find it highly annoying that the tv networks on the satellite dish advertise that you can watch a show online if you miss it...BUT as a Canadian if you go to the site you get told sorry you aren't in the states you aren't allowed.
It drives me bonkers. I hate being Geoblocked!
I read an article tonight from TheStar.com entitled Denied the right to watch TV online? You've been geo-blocked from February of this year. I thought it was so neat because it actually had some names of places that i CAN watch tv online without getting told because i live here i cant watch something.
Does this happen to people in other countries too or is it just Canada? What do you do just give up or find somewhere else to watch?

Hubby and I actually watch all our TV on the PC's...that is except for the DVD movies we have. We figured out how much we were wasting on cable and decided to dump it. It works out pretty good for us.

I usually dont have the paitence for it to load for me - i'm on dialup. But i was visiting mom last night - she has highspeed - when i figured it out and i was bored cause everyone else was playing computer games! I share the satellite bill with my parents - we have 3 on one account and its 70 a month for the three. They pay 8 months of the year and i pay 4 months of the year. (usually when moms off work for the summer is when i pay.)

yeah i watch tv online sometimes but rarely because i hate watching tv online its slow. and i'm on the computer all day. and the only time i watch things online is if i'm bored watching youtube videos or i want to watch a movie that came out a long time ago. and i love watching shows on tv because its more comptable then sitting in a computer chair. i only also watch tv online when i missed a new episode on tv. and i usually miss it because i'm online it all just goes is a big circle.
